Eurek[ster]! Google Co-Op Customizes Search

October 23, 2006 – 12:00 am
Search Marketing News had one thing on it’s mind today and that was Google Co-Op’s release of Customizable Search. In fact, it really seemed like the world of web marketing stood still to honor this release… that and another little Bushism.

Not that I am complaining, I mean the fact is that I have long loved Rollyo & Eurkster (Eurkster is specifically great in posting quick arbitrage opportunities) and I have been having a full on love affair (with the occassional bumps) with Google since 2000. So how could I not love the combo… I can’t not love - I love.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to play with the functionality more than just playing around with the basics. I will play around with the functionality more over the next week.

I don’t know what Google’s end game is with this move (or Co-Op) in general besides the obvious implications of controlling click stream and having the masses build a better taxonomy (and resulting algo) but one thing is clearer an clearer every day - Google does NOT intend to sit by the wayside and be marginalized by improvements in the marketplace. They want to be those improvements…
